Suspect linked to 2023 kidnapping, murder nabbed in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended a 25-year-old suspect, Olisa Oyelu, alias "Obele," in connection with a 2023 kidnapping and murder case. According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the arrest came after continuous intelligence gathering and extensive investigation by the command's officers.

Oyelu was apprehended early on Wednesday, September 23, at the State Criminal Investigation Department. He was the last member of the notorious gang led by a suspect called "Pincode" to be arrested. The incident led to the victim's death. Oyelu was an active member of the gang involved in the kidnapping and armed robbery. After the arrest, the suspect would be handed over to the correctional center after the investigation concludes.

"Pincode" and four other suspects are already in police custody, awaiting court proceedings. The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Ama, praised the officers' perseverance and dedication in the investigation, assuring the public of continued efforts to apprehend criminal elements.
