Russia says it intercepted nearly 600 Ukrainian drones overnight as strikes hit refineries and industrial sites

On September 25, Ukrainian drones targeted several Russian regions, including Ulyanovsk, Voronezh, Rostov, and Perm Krai, damaging both industrial and civilian infrastructure. The attacks resulted in numerous casualties and damages, with at least eight people injured, including a child, and one fatality in Perm Krai. The Ukrainian drones were intercepted by Russia's air defenses, with a total of 592 drones intercepted overnight over Russian regions, occupied Crimea, and the Black Sea.

In Ulyanovsk, Governor Alexei Russkikh reported that the attack damaged industrial and civilian infrastructure, causing injuries to eight people, including a child. The "Iskra" plant, a semiconductor device producer, was among the targets. In Perm Krai, Governor Dmitry Makhonin confirmed that one of the targets was a Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez oil refinery, resulting in a fire and smoke visible in the city. The city witnessed damages to apartment buildings and vehicles, as well as drone debris causing fires.

Rostov Governor Yuri Slyusar reported that no casualties were reported due to the attack on the Novoshakhtinsk oil products plant, and the plant halted operations. In Voronezh, Governor Alexander Gusev stated that 13 people were injured, including a child, after Ukrainian drones damaged the Voronezhsintezkauchuk plant, which produces thermoplastic elastomers and synthetic rubbers.

The facades of apartment buildings and vehicles were also damaged, while "drone debris" caused fires. Additionally, a warehouse belonging to the e-commerce platform Ozon in Voronezh was reported to have caught fire.

In Luhansk, a home-improvement hypermarket named "Stroitsentr" caught fire following a drone attack, as reported by Ukrainian channels. Local monitoring channels had earlier reported a drone attack. Russia's Defense Ministry confirmed the interception of 592 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions, occupied Crimea, and the Black Sea.
