PAS Pulau Pinang has expressed respect for the views of its grassroots members who are urging the party to contest the Tasek Gelugor parliamentary seat currently held by Wawasan Wan Saiful Wan Jan's deputy. The party's spokesperson, Fawwaz Jan, clarified that the division of seats will be decided by the party's top leadership and that all parties will abide by the final decision once it is made.

He added that in PAS, seat division is determined by the highest level of leadership, and once a decision is made, all members will adhere to it. Historically, such occurrences have taken place, and the voice of the grassroots must be respected, but when the decision is made, all members will follow and work towards victory.

Meanwhile, PAS Pulau Pinang's deputy youth leader, Muhammad Hafiz Alias, stated that the decision regarding seat allocation falls under the authority of central leadership, but the grassroots perspective is generally taken into account. He emphasized that the grassroots opinion should be one of the main factors as they are a significant swing vote in the upcoming general election.

If a candidate wins for five years, they will continue to serve the people and face them consistently. They may also be re-elected if they have a good performance record, are easily approachable by the grassroots, and do not exploit the diversity under them. Hafiz believes that PAS leadership's wisdom in drawing up the division of seats for the 2016 general election will consider all parties impartially and will not discriminate against or harass the diversity under them.

Earlier, PAS Lahar Yooi branch had reported that they would close their polling booth and boycott the election if a PAS candidate is chosen.
