Mikey Musumeci slammed hard at UFC BJJ but ultimately wins decision over Bryce Mitchell in main event

In a thrilling main event at UFC BJJ 11, Mikey Musumeci faced Bryce Mitchell in Las Vegas on Thursday night. The crossover match was set up as Musumeci transitions to a full-time MMA fighter, showcasing his skills without using leg locks, a signature move. Mitchell defended effectively over the three rounds, preventing Musumeci from landing a finish, but ultimately, Musumeci had the time of his life.

"It was fun," Musumeci stated after the match, highlighting his preference for MMA grappling opponents. The match started with Musumeci attempting leg locks, triggering boos from the crowd who agreed on no leg locks. Despite a few initial setbacks, Musumeci managed to secure a hold and transitioned into chokes, including an anaconda choke and a power guillotine choke.

Mitchell fought back, getting on top and continuing the fight into the final round. Musumeci, in guard, tried to grab Mitchell's arm or head but Mitchell stayed strong. A surprising slam by Mitchell earned him a warning from referee Vitor Ribeiro. Musumeci then took the back, attempting a submission, but Mitchell avoided it. Mitchell then bull rushed forward with another takedown, ending the match, which lasted all 15 minutes.

Mitchell admitted he would need to use punches to escape many of Musumeci's best moves, but they stuck to their agreement, resulting in a unanimous decision victory for Musumeci.
