Law & order situation: Malik directs uninterrupted fuel supply

Islamabad hosted a crucial meeting on Thursday led by Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik to ensure a steady flow of fuel throughout Pakistan. The meeting gathered representatives from key parties such as Pakistan Railways, OGRA, Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC), Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA), All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association (APPPDA) and their relevant officials.

Malik commended the petroleum dealers' associations for their cooperation with the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme, emphasizing the government's commitment to uninterrupted fuel supply even in situations of law and order or road closures.

To achieve this, Malik directed all stakeholders to make advance preparations, guaranteeing smooth fuel movement. Pakistan State Oil (PSO) shared that it had pre-arranged additional fuel stocks at crucial depots to prevent interruptions. OGRA established a specialized control room for crisis management and to maintain fuel availability at retail points.

The Federal Minister also directed PSO to stock up fuel at critical depots ahead of potential disruptions. OGRA's action against any petrol pump denying eligible customers fuel relief was announced. Malik Khuda Baksh, Chairman of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, expressed confidence in the scheme's success and reiterated their association's support.

APPPDA Chairperson Humayun Khan and Nauman Butt from the All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association thanked the government for involving petrol pump owners in the scheme and stated their full support. OCAC Chairman Nawed Tanwir Abbasi echoed the sentiment, calling the scheme a successful initiative aimed at providing public relief. The Federal Minister stressed the importance of coordination among all stakeholders to maintain uninterrupted fuel supply and effectively implement the Prime Minister's scheme.
