Info ministry dismisses Afghan claims of destroying Pakistani post near border in Balochistan as 'fake'

Pakistan's Information Ministry dismissed Afghan claims that a Pakistani post near the border had been destroyed as "fake and fabricated" on Friday. The ministry also noted that Afghan forces reported no casualties in the recent clash between the two sides. According to the ministry, an attempted Afghan aggression in the Gulistan sector was thwarted on the night between September 24 and 25, during which at least 13 Afghan Taliban personnel were killed and several injured.

The ministry shared visuals of the incident, which it claimed were widely covered by media and circulated on social media. The ministry criticized the Afghan Defence Ministry for being habitual liars with no moral and reputational standing. The escalation in tensions at the Pak-Afghan border has led to Pakistan conducting precision aerial and drone strikes in Afghanistan in retaliation for drones launched from Afghanistan earlier.

The Afghan Taliban also engaged in unprovoked firing near Kurram the night before, and security forces foiled an attempt by terrorists to cross into Pakistan. Pakistan has been conducting counter-terrorism operations against terrorist hideouts and safe havens in the border region with Afghanistan following recent terrorist attacks.
