Immigration detains 84 foreign nationals in two-phase raid at Putrajaya’s ‘Green Flats’

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 25 — The Immigration Department conducted a two-phase operation, named Ops Pintu, at Pangsapuri Putra Harmoni, commonly referred to as the “Green Flats”, in Kuala Lumpur. Intelligence gathered and public tip-offs led to the arrest of 84 foreign nationals. The operation, which began yesterday morning and resumed at 1.30 am today, involved 60 Immigration personnel inspecting business premises in the apartment area, followed by the arrest of individuals suspected of being illegal immigrants.

A total of 321 people were inspected during the operation, with 84 foreign nationals — comprising 73 men, nine women, and two children — detained for further investigation. Intelligence indicated the presence of foreign nationals residing in the area, some of whom were believed to be conducting business activities. The department emphasized the responsibility of property owners to ensure the immigration status of tenants is valid and compliant with regulations.
