Green Party leader Zack Polanski: 'I'm an anti-Zionist'

Zack Polanski, leader of the Green Party, declared on Thursday night that he is anti-Zionist. This marks the first time a major British political party leader has made such a statement. During a Jewish hustings in Holborn and St Pancras by-election, when asked if he himself was a Zionist, Polanski responded that he is an anti-Zionist, despite acknowledging it may be a difficult concept for people in the room to accept. He explained that he believes countries are ideas that can evolve over time.

Polanski further clarified his stance on the definition of Zionism, stating that if it is defined as the displacement and genocide of Palestinians, then it becomes a form of racism. This assertion was made when questioned directly about whether Zionism constitutes a racist ideology. Polanski is running as the Green Party candidate for the London constituency of Holborn and St Pancras, where voting will take place on October 8th.
