Fermi selects CBRE to operate Texas data center facility

Fermi Inc. (NASDAQ:FRMI) has chosen CBRE to manage its new data center in the Texas Panhandle, according to a press release. The five-year agreement with CBRE makes it the exclusive operations and maintenance provider for Fermi's Project Matador campus, near Amarillo, Texas. CBRE will oversee building readiness, maintenance programs, equipment checks, and operating procedures.

Lee McIntire, Fermi's CEO, stated that CBRE's expertise will ensure the data center's smooth operation once completed. The agreement also allows Fermi to expand to additional buildings at the campus. Fermi recently received its first Siemens Energy SGT6-5000F turbines and has secured significant power partnerships. The facility is part of Fermi's $1.5 billion investment in Project Matador, aiming for 17 gigawatts of capacity.
