Eagles keep Dons winless, Dogs put Power on the brink

Ella Roberts celebrated her 50-game AFLW milestone in a thrilling West Coast win over Essendon, with the Eagles falling just short at Windy Hill. The Eagles led by 34 points in the third quarter and by 28 points at the final change, but Essendon's relentless comeback effort brought the margin down to just 10 points. Essendon missed multiple opportunities in the final quarter, kicking only 2.7 to West Coast's 4.11 (45 to 35).

Roberts was a standout performer, amassing 31 disposals, four clearances, one goal assist, nine tackles, and covering 717 meters, while Jaide Britton and Amy Franklin contributed two goals and six marks respectively. Maddy Prespakis and Steph Wales were notable for the Bombers with 27 and 20 disposals respectively. The result moved West Coast to 3-4, back in the finals mix following three consecutive wins.

Meanwhile, at Whitten Oval, the Western Bulldogs secured a 13-point victory over Port Adelaide (5-2), with Heidi Woodley standing out as the star scorer with a career-high four goals from 18 disposals. Ellie Hampson and Shineah Goody also contributed significantly for the Bulldogs, who bounced back from a 13-point half-time deficit due to their strong second-half performance.

In the afternoon match, Carlton defeated Richmond by a comfortable 11.10 (76) to 3.3 (21) at Princes Park.
