Dolly Parton Family Dispute Could Become Long, 'Expensive' Court Fight: Lawyer

A family dispute involving Dolly Parton's former manager and her nephew may escalate into a costly legal battle, according to an attorney. Danny Nozell, Parton's manager, recently sought a restraining order against Bryan Seaver, who was in charge of security at Parton's August 25 memorial event. Seaver, who claims to be "heartbroken," denies the allegations.

The attorney Parag L. Amin, who specializes in high-profile cases, stated that such disputes are not uncommon. He noted that the lack of clear paperwork often contributes to such conflicts, especially in family businesses. Seaver's sister, Freida Parton, however, has denied any family feud, stating that no one is fighting over the late singer's estate.

The primary issue at hand is a business dispute, with questions surrounding contract continuation, owed amounts, and decision-making authority. A restraining order, issued on a temporary basis, is expected to be lifted during a hearing in early October. The lawsuit, however, may continue even after this.
