This victory gives Milwaukee a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Dodgers, as both teams' results are tied. Furthermore, the Brewers' season record outpaces the top American League seed, the Tampa Bay Rays. If the Brewers reach the World Series, they will have home-field advantage.

Milwaukee has not won the World Series since 1982. Last season, the Brewers were again the top seed, which proved beneficial in their NL Divisional Series against the Chicago Cubs, where they won all three home games.
