Brewers will have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs again

The Milwaukee Brewers have secured the No. 1 seed in the 2026 MLB playoffs and will enjoy home-field advantage throughout the postseason. This follows their win on Thursday, Sept. 24, and the Los Angeles Dodgers' loss hours later. Milwaukee clinched the top seed with just two games left to clinch, meaning any combination of Brewers wins or Dodgers losses would secure the position.

The Brewers achieved their 100th win of the season, a milestone never reached before by the franchise. The Dodgers currently have 97 wins with three games remaining. Since Milwaukee won the season series against the Dodgers, they hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. If the Brewers advance to the World Series, they will have home-field advantage for the Fall Classic, a position they have enjoyed in the past.

The Brewers' last World Series appearance was in 1982. While the Brewers will be aiming for their first championship since then, they have shown they can thrive at home before. The Brewers concluded their regular season against the St. Louis Cardinals from Sept. 25-27. Their playoff journey will commence with Game 1 of the NL Divisional Series at home on Saturday, Oct. 3, against a wild-card opponent yet to be determined.
