Agri-sector demand growing for vet, tech, and processing experts – Ukrainian agriculture minister

Ukrainian Agriculture Minister Taras Vysotsky predicts a growing demand for specialists in various fields within the country's agricultural sector. These areas include veterinary medicine, horticulture, greenhouse farming, digital technologies, agricultural drone operations, mechanization, processing, and food production, as stated in a recent press release.

Vysotsky emphasized the increasing need for professionals skilled in veterinary medicine, particularly those working with productive animals, as well as those involved in horticulture and greenhouse farming. The minister also highlighted the significance of digitalization in modern agricultural production, noting that drones, sensors, and automated systems are becoming integral components of the sector.

Additionally, Vysotsky stated that crop production will remain a core aspect of the agricultural sector, while livestock farming, processing, and food production will gain importance, leading to a heightened demand for relevant specialists. He reassured that the employment landscape in agriculture is not expected to decline, but rather, the sectors requiring new skills are projected to expand.

Vysotsky stressed the importance of dual education, practical training, and collaboration between educational institutions and employers to ensure that students are equipped with the necessary skills to meet the evolving needs of the agricultural industry.
