Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2's New Class Is Finally Confirmed — and It's Exactly What Everyone Suspected

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 fans are in for a treat as publisher Focus Entertainment has revealed the game's Year 3 roadmap and confirmed the new class set to be introduced in early 2027. The long-awaited Apothecary class has been confirmed as the addition to the game, which aligns with the many speculations from fans. Focus Entertainment stated, "We’ve been following all your speculations ever since we teased the arrival of a new class, and you certainly had plenty of theories… and the majority of you were right!"

The Apothecary class will be included with Patch 17, which is slated for release in the first quarter of 2027. Additionally, the Apothecary will receive a Champion skin, similar to the Techmarine. Patch 15 is set to launch on October 1, with Patch 16 following shortly thereafter. The highly anticipated Chaos Siege mode will be introduced with Patch 15, allowing players to experience Heretic Astartes in PvP mode.

Patch 16 will also bring a new PvP mode featuring Weekly Stratagems, modeled after those in PvE. Year 3 will see the introduction of new Operations, weapons, and "reworks to several gameplay features," according to Focus. The publisher has also teased other cool features planned for the future. New customization options will expand by 33%, and the streaming technology will be put to the test.

Year 3 DLC will include five new Cosmetic and Champion Packs, though the final one remains undisclosed. While the developer Saber Interactive continues to work on the upcoming Space Marine 3, no release window has been announced for it. Despite the success of Space Marine 2, which has garnered over 12 million players since its 2024 launch, anticipation continues to build for the next installment.
