Top S. Korean sports official blasts Asian Games organizers for shoddy operations

NAGOYA, Japan — The head of the South Korean national Olympic committee, Ryu Seung-min, has harshly criticized the organizers of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games for their inadequate operations. At a meeting with South Korean media, Ryu expressed his disappointment over various aspects, including athletes' accommodations and transportation.

He acknowledged that things had been improving, but stressed that problems in these areas were still negatively impacting athletes' performances. Ryu, a former Olympic table tennis champion and ex-member of the International Olympic Committee, firmly stated that he would give the organizers an F for their performance. He emphasized that if athletes' performances are affected, critical evaluation is necessary. Ryu also warned that if such issues persist, it would constitute serious incompetence.
