Tengku Zafrul kemuka 5 soalan, tuntut penjelasan Ismail

Tengku Zafrul Aziz asked five questions of Negeri Sembilan's Chief Minister Ismail Lasim concerning the change in his stance on the proclamations reducing the throne of Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir. The minister's statement mostly touched on power and constitutional issues, but failed to address the key question about his own appointment.

Ismail had previously claimed to have been forced to sign the royal position document, provide a police report, and declare support and loyalty to Tuanku Muhriz. "Just ten days later, the government that coerced him endorses the proclamation and requests its continuation," he said on Facebook. Tengku Zafrul questioned whether Ismail was indeed forced to sign the proclamation of August 3 and, if true, who was responsible.

He also asked for an explanation as to why the exco meeting on September 15 endorsed the proclamation, while Ismail filed a police report on September 9 claiming he was coerced. Additionally, Tengku Zafrul questioned the factors behind Ismail's change of stance, whether he faced coercion again and who imposed it in the critical period.

Tengku Zafrul stated that the explanation from Ismail about the government's determination on who ascends or leaves the throne remains inadequate. "What really changed, Ismail?" he asked. Earlier, Ismail said he and former exco did not decide to lower or appoint the Negeri Sembilan Yang Di Pertuan Besar. He added that he and the former exco would not interfere with investigations, customary considerations, or the process of choosing determined by the State Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959.

The government also said it respected the ongoing legislative process and would not take actions contradictory to any court decisions.
