‘Tekanan politik, niat jahat’ sebab PN digantung, dakwa Takiyuddin

Perikatan Nasional (PN) is currently facing potential political pressure and an alleged hostile agenda after the Registration Department of Malaysia's (JPPM) decision to suspend the coalition, according to PN Deputy Secretary-General Takiyuddin Hassan. The suspension, which was announced on July 16, 2023, grants JPPM a 30-day window for PN to respond to Bersatu's allegations following a meeting on the same day.

The Deputy Secretary-General also alleged that the suspension was carried out on the day of the announcement and emphasizes the power to dissolve the DUN of Melaka to pave the way for the PRN coalition in the near future.

PN has acknowledged the possibility that the suspension is part of a nefarious political agenda and a form of domestic and external pressure. The notifiers and orders for suspension were handed over to PN separately on September 22 and 23. JPPM granted a 30-day period for PN to respond to Bersatu's allegations following a meeting on July 16.

While PN accepted the JPPM decision, they disagreed with the basis of that decision and are taking immediate legal steps to uphold their objectives and agenda for establishment, according to Takiyuddin.

PN has instructed all parties not to issue any statements on behalf of PN, except for Pengerus Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and Takiyuddin himself. The coalition asserts that JPPM's actions are a measure to void their registration after receiving a notice under Section 13(2A) of the Companies Act 1966, which requires the suspension of all activities until a specified date that has not yet been determined.

Today, JPPM denies PN's cancellation while asserting that the coalition has been given a fair chance to respond to the allegations reported by Bersatu. Consequently, all PN activities are suspended effective 23 September in accordance with Section 13(2A) of the Companies Act 1966.
