Tata Sons may seek NCLT directions to convene AGM

Mumbai: Tata Sons is considering approaching the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) to convene its upcoming annual general meeting (AGM), as the lack of quorum due to restrictions on the Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT) remains an issue. The AGM would allow Tata Sons to proceed with its business plans and address pending corporate matters, including N Chandrasekaran's reappointment as director, which is central to a dispute between Tata Trusts chairman Noel Tata and the rest of the board.

If the required quorum cannot be met due to ongoing restrictions on SRTT, Tata Sons plans to seek NCLT directions to hold the AGM, which would provide a legal pathway to conduct the meeting and transact business.
