Someone went shopping in ASUS's eShop – for customer data

Asus has informed its eShop customers that one of its online store parts was compromised, with unauthorized access potentially exposing customers' contact details and order records. The company only confirmed that payment card, bank account, or other financial information was not affected in the breach. The company took swift action after discovering the unauthorized access, investigated the incident, and strengthened the security of the affected systems.

However, the company has not disclosed the number of affected customers, the exact timeline of the intrusion, or the geographical scope of the breach. Despite the lack of information, customers are advised to remain vigilant for potential phishing attempts using the stolen data. Asus has a history of data breaches as well, with a supplier of one of its products being hacked in December.
