SHC gives occupants of its lands 21 days to regularise interests

The State Housing Company Limited (SHC) has launched a nationwide audit and recovery operation targeting individuals and entities occupying or dealing with its properties without proper authorization. The initiative, announced on September 24, 2026, encompasses those residing on SHC land unlawfully, encroaching on the company's lands, or whose leases and other interests in the properties have ceased.

It also includes those developing or residing in SHC properties without necessary approvals, as well as those who have illicitly assigned, sublet, transferred, or otherwise dealt with SHC properties.

SHC has granted all affected parties a 21-day window, commencing from the notice date, to validate their occupation or interest where legally feasible, apply for lease renewal where applicable, or vacate the affected properties. Those with affected interests have been instructed to provide their relevant lease, allocation, payment, and other supporting documents for verification.

The company has threatened legal action against those lacking valid and ongoing interests in SHC properties who do not comply within the given timeframe.

SHC has also cautioned the public against engaging in transactions involving its lands without first verifying the property's status and the authority of the person claiming rights to transact on it. This operation is part of SHC's broader efforts to safeguard its land and property assets and regularize interests in its properties.
