Ryan Murphy Has Finished a ‘Glee’ Reboot Script & the Original Cast Is ‘Very Enthusiastic’

Ryan Murphy has completed a script for a potential reboot of the hit musical comedy-drama series Glee, according to Entertainment Tonight. Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, and Murphy, who wrote the first two seasons, have collaborated on the new script. Murphy shared that he recently spoke with around 10 of the original cast members about the idea, and they all expressed enthusiasm for the prospect.

The show, which ran from 2009 to 2015, catapulted its ensemble cast, including the late Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera, to stardom and has achieved 207 Billboard Hot 100 entries, a feat surpassed only by Drake, Taylor Swift, and Future. The legacy of Glee has, however, been overshadowed by tragic losses suffered by Monteith and Rivera.

Murphy's announcement of the potential reboot came after he expressed his desire to revisit the show in July, citing the enduring impact it had on countless viewers.
