‘Off Campus’ Star Belmont Cameli Joins Sydney Sweeney In Sony’s ‘Hollow’

Belmont Cameli, known for his role in "Off Campus," will portray Brom Bones in Sony Pictures' "Hollow," a modern take on Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," alongside Sydney Sweeney as Katrina Van Tassel. The film, set to be directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer, will be adapted from her upcoming debut novel slated for release in fall 2027.

"Hollow" will re-envision the enigmatic figure of the Headless Horseman as a mystery-laden supernatural erotic thriller from Katrina's viewpoint, a role reversal from the original's Ichabod Crane and Brom Bones dynamic. Sony is currently seeking the right actor to embody Ichabod Crane, with production set to be handled by Sweeney's newly formed company Honey Trap under a first-look agreement with Sony.

Beers, also producing through her newly established Lab Brew banner alongside LuckyChap, will collaborate with Beer and LuckyChap as co-producers. Cameli gained recognition for his breakout role on Prime Video's "Off Campus" and has appeared in Sony's "Until Dawn" and Warner Bros.' "Alto Knights." He is represented by Gersh, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Viewpoint, and Hansen Jacobson.

Sweeney recently enjoyed a box office triumph with Lionsgate's "The Housemaid" and is set to return next year with "The Housemaid's Secret," a sequel to the Freida McFadden adaptation. She is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, CAA, and Hansen Jacobson. "Hollow" will be Beer's fourth feature film, following her directorial debut with the Netflix release "Sierra Burgess Is a Loser" in 2018, and her 2023 directorial venture "Pet Sematary: Bloodlines" for Paramount+. The casting decision for "Hollow" was first disclosed by Deadline.
