Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center issues over 141,000 permits in 2026

The Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center has issued over 141,000 permits since the start of 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance project quality and ensure compliance with approved standards and requirements. In its latest monthly performance report for August 2026, the center revealed that more than 19,000 infrastructure permits were issued during the month, with 10,100 of these permits currently under implementation.

According to the report, the total length of roads impacted by project works in the region amounted to 1,133 kilometers, highlighting the scale of development ongoing across road networks, utilities, and infrastructure. During August, the center received over 8,000 incident reports, with 29% of these related to road subsidence, 26% to water accumulation, 11% to uncovered manholes, and the remaining 34% covering various other issues. Since the beginning of the year, the total number of reports has surpassed 190,000.

Field teams conducting inspections at project sites noted several areas requiring improvement, such as inadequate site cleanliness, absence of warning lights, missing temporary barriers, and storage of materials outside designated zones. The center stressed the importance of strengthening compliance measures to improve execution quality and maintain site safety.

They affirmed that regular reports serve as a crucial tool for promoting transparency, enhancing monitoring efficiency, providing operational indicators, supporting decision-making, elevating infrastructure project quality, and ultimately contributing to an improved quality of life in Riyadh.
