RCCG flies home 107 Nigerians from South Africa

One hundred and seven Nigerians returned to Nigeria from South Africa on Thursday night, marking the beginning of a humanitarian effort by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). The first batch of 500 Nigerians, whose transportation from Johannesburg to Lagos was funded by the RCCG, arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

Officials from various agencies, including NEMA and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, received the returnees and began the profiling process. The RCCG's Chairman, Pastor Belemina Obunge, explained that General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye approved the funding for the repatriation on humanitarian grounds, as Nigerians were stranded in South Africa.

The returnees included individuals of various faiths, as they were profiled by the Nigerian High Commission in South Africa and South African authorities. The RCCG plans to bring home additional batches of Nigerians who were stranded in South Africa, urging other religious organizations to support those facing similar challenges.
