RCCG flies home 107 Nigerians from South Africa

Exactly 107 Nigerians were repatriated from South Africa via the humanitarian efforts of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. They were the initial group of 500 nationals whose flight from Johannesburg to Lagos was funded by the RCCG, following an appeal from the Nigerian embassy in South Africa. Nigerian agencies like the National Emergency Management Agency and the National Commission for Refugees welcomed the returnees at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

The RCCG's chairman, Pastor Belemina Obunge, confirmed that General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye approved the funding on humanitarian grounds. The returnees were not chosen based on their church affiliation but were Nigerians who needed to return. They represent various faiths, including Muslims and Christians. The RCCG paid for the air travel, while government agencies handled their reception and onward transport. Additional batches of returnees are expected as the process continues.
