Rahul Gandhi’s Indore Event Sparks Youth Congress Pass Row, Sweety Patil Questions Arrangements

A controversy has erupted within the Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress over the distribution of entry passes for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Chhatron Ki Goonj program held in Indore on September 19. State Vice President Sweety Patil alleged she faced difficulties in obtaining a pass, despite being an office-bearer, spending hours trying to secure one.

This sparked a furious exchange in a WhatsApp group of Youth Congress officials, with several questioning the organizational arrangements. Some members proposed reaching out to the national president and holding a press conference should their grievances not be resolved. The group’s settings were later adjusted to permit only administrators to post messages.

Patil claimed that "criminals and wrong people" were permitted inside the auditorium, while party workers were denied entry. She also criticized the performance of State Youth Congress President Yash Ghanghoria, noting it was the fifth time she encountered such treatment. Patil stated she had informed office-bearers the previous day that she was unwell and sought clarification on the pass distribution, but only received a pass around 5 pm.

She expressed frustration over the delays and questioned the responsibilities of the state president and in-charge, arguing they should step down if they could not manage the event logistics effectively.

Responding to the accusations, Ghanghoria denied any knowledge of the matter or the messages shared in the group, stating, "I have no information about any such matter. I am not aware of who wrote what."
