President appoints three new judges to High Court

On September 24th, 2026, a two-member bench of the Balochistan High Court directed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to take immediate actions to improve facilities along national highways. Specifically, they tasked the NHA with providing facilities like trees, drinking water, rest areas, and prayer spaces along the N-25 and N-50 highways. During the hearing, the court's attention was drawn to the significant gap between proposed rest areas, necessitating additional measures to ensure basic amenities for travelers.

Chief Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Mulakhail and Justice Muhammad Najamuddin Mengal made these orders clear. Notably, they emphasized the importance of installing solar-powered tube-wells along the highways. These would facilitate plantation and provide clean drinking water to both travelers and local residents. The court also stressed the need to designate specific areas for rest and prayer, ensuring that these facilities are accessible to disadvantaged communities, especially those living in remote regions.

Furthermore, the court instructed the NHA to prioritize work on these projects and formulate practical policy guidelines. These guidelines would ensure the provision of essential facilities, including small business centers, based on travelers' needs. The court directed that a copy of its decision be forwarded to relevant authorities for information and compliance. The hearing was adjourned until November 23rd.
