Panvel Municipal Corporation Intensifies Cleanliness Drives Across 20 Wards Under Swachhata Hi Seva 2026

Panvel Municipal Corporation has ramped up cleanliness drives across 20 wards as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, running from September 17 to October 2. The campaign, led by Mayor Nitin Patil and municipal commissioner Mangesh Chitale, focuses on the theme 'Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat'.

Activities include cleanliness drives, public space cleaning, community-led sanitation programs, and Swachh Pathshala for youth. The initiative aims to promote waste segregation, SWM rules, and create awareness about the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016. Residents and shopkeepers have been sensitized about the plastic ban, and students have taken a cleanliness pledge.

Special attention has been given to neglected spots, with cleaning efforts undertaken at garbage accumulation areas and degraded locations in all four ward committees. Water bodies and immersion grounds like Shri Mhasoba Talao, Roadpali, New Panvel's artificial lake, Belpada immersion ghat, Rohinjan Ganesh ghat, and Wadala and Ballaleshwar lake areas have been cleaned and beautified.

Civic teams have conducted drain cleaning in Roadpali Sector 15, and safety, service, and felicitation camps have been organized for sanitation workers. The campaign will continue with more cleanliness and awareness initiatives in the days ahead.
