Paired three days before the race, Satnam and Salman win India's first double sculls medal

In a thrilling finish at the Asian Games, Indian rowers Satnam Singh and Salman Khan claimed the country's first double sculls medal. Racing in the men's double sculls at the Nagaragawa International Regatta Course, the pair clocked a time of 6:13.25 to take bronze, edging out China's Yi Xudi and Nie Yide by 0.38 seconds, and Uzbekistan's Mekhrojbek Mamatkulov and Pavel Sorin by 0.55 seconds.

Both men admitted they were exhausted following the race but were still finishing in medal contention throughout. It marked a remarkable turnaround, as the two had just joined forces three days prior to the competition, joining India's men's quadruple sculls crew and switching disciplines in a last-minute strategy to boost medal prospects.
