Okpebholo: Nigerians are enjoying, petrol costs N3,000 per litre in UK

Nigerian Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State stated that Nigerians are currently enjoying lower fuel prices compared to the United Kingdom, where a liter of fuel costs over N3,000. During the "Operation Rescue Benin-Asaba Road" event in Edo State, Okpebholo shared that he recently visited London and purchased petrol, which he then compared to the prices in Nigeria. He revealed that after conversion, a liter of fuel in the UK costs around N3,000, while Nigerians are paying approximately N1,400 per liter.

The governor attributed Nigeria's relatively favorable fuel prices to the economic reforms being implemented by President Bola Tinubu. While acknowledging that the reforms are challenging, Okpebholo expressed confidence that they will eventually yield positive results, comparing them to an aircraft reaching cruising altitude before passengers receive food.

He also highlighted ongoing road construction projects as evidence of development under the Tinubu administration, specifically praising the Federal Government's intervention on the deteriorated Benin-Asaba Road.

Okpebholo further demonstrated his support for President Tinubu's continued presidency, urging those planning to challenge the incumbent to reconsider. He asked the audience, "Is Aso Rock vacant?" implying that Aso Rock, the official residence of Nigerian heads of state, is not vacant, thus affirming the President's occupancy.
