Leica Lux 2.0 app brings a little Steve McCurry magic to your iPhone – shoot like a National Geographic photographer!

Leica has unveiled an expansion of its iPhone photography ecosystem with the launch of major updates to the Lux camera app and the introduction of a Leica Lux phone grip compatible with the new iPhone 18 Pro series. The legendary photojournalist Steve McCurry endorsed the new Artist Look feature, which is available in the Pro version of the app. This feature doesn't come as a template, but rather as an inspiration for photographers to create their own unique compositions.

In addition to the Artist Look, Leica has also improved the app with a unified gallery interface, integrated with Leica FOTOS, and a redesigned user interface inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass. The review and selection of single images have been enhanced through a new film-strip view. Moreover, the app can now be launched directly alongside Darkroom, Adobe Lightroom, and Capture One for external image editing.

The Leica Lux grip is now available in a silver and black finish for the first time, offering compatibility with the latest iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models as well as older iPhones all the way back to the iPhone 12. The grip can be attached to a bare iPhone via MagSafe or paired with one of the compatible black leather cases priced at £85. It connects to the phone via Bluetooth and boasts a battery life of up to 1,000 shots with one charge.

The base Leica Lux app for iOS is free, while some advanced features like the Artist Look are only available in the Leica Lux Pro version. This Pro version requires a monthly subscription of $6.99/£6.99 or an annual fee of $69.9/£69.99.
