Jharkhand minister’s daughter among 4 killed as car rams truck in Jamshedpur

An accident on Marine Drive in Jamshedpur’s Sonari area early Thursday claimed the lives of four individuals. The victim included Deepika Pandey Singh’s younger daughter, Trisha Singh. The deceased are Trisha Singh, Sarthak Agrawal, Naman Gupta, and Vanshika Khandelwal. In a collision around 3 am, the car rammed into a parked truck resulting in severe damage to the vehicle.

The car was wedged beneath the truck, making it difficult for rescuers to extricate the trapped victims. They were eventually freed after using a gas cutter to cut through the severely damaged car. The bodies were sent to MGM Medical College and Hospital for postmortem examinations. Chief Minister Hemant Soren conveyed his condolences, expressing deep distress over the tragic loss of life.

He called the incident “extremely sad and heart-wrenching” and offered his sympathies to the family of Trisha Singh, who was also a fellow minister, describing her loss as unbearable. Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi also extended condolences, praying for strength for the bereaved family.
