Israeli attacks kill at least seven Palestinians across Gaza despite ‘ceasefire’

A devastating toll of at least seven fatalities and 35 injuries was sustained in Gaza on Wednesday as Israeli air strikes continued, despite a stated ceasefire. Palestinian rescue workers found themselves amid the aftermath of collapsed buildings in Gaza City. Among the wounded was an elderly woman, her life claimed by Israeli forces west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

Since the ceasefire last year, Palestinians in Gaza have endured relentless Israeli assaults, even though Hamas and other factions refrained from major military actions. Israel has now claimed over 60 percent of Gaza, with Prime Minister Netanyahu openly aiming for a 70 percent control. The death toll from Israeli aggression has risen to 1,408 Palestinians and 4,916 others injured since October 11, 2025.

Senior Israeli officials have openly discussed the intention to eliminate Palestinians entirely from Gaza. Israeli Defense Minister Isaac Katz stated, "We continue to condemn Hamas, and we stand with Israel in the face of the ongoing threats, including from Iran, against Israel and Jewish people around the world. But this does not justify the Israeli government's actions in Gaza or the West Bank."

The region has witnessed a staggering loss of life, with nearly 74,000 Palestinians killed and 175,000 injured since October 7, 2023, the true death toll likely being higher due to the destruction of buildings.
