Insecurity: How Tinubu ensured capture of most wanted terrorist, Mamuda without gunshots – FG

The Federal Government revealed on Thursday that intelligence coordination among security agencies under President Bola Tinubu's administration resulted in the capture of notorious terrorist Mamuda and his Chief of Staff, all without any gunshot. Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed this during a briefing on Nigeria's 66th independence celebration preparations.

Idris stated that the country's security environment has improved under Tinubu's leadership. He highlighted the enhanced coordination among security agencies, attributing the successful capture of Mamuda and his Chief of Staff to this collaboration. Both individuals, who have bounties placed on their heads by countries like the United States, are currently in court.

Idris noted that while the Tinubu administration has not entirely resolved Nigeria's security challenges since 2023, significant progress is being made. He emphasized the recent ease of travel between cities, such as Kaduna and Abuja, which was once a daunting task. Furthermore, Idris announced that the President has approved funding for acquiring more platforms and equipment for the Armed Forces and security agencies, as well as an increase in military salaries. These measures, according to Idris, have had a positive impact on the morale of security personnel.
