Google just closed the gap between Gemini Notebooks and Docs

Google has just expanded Gemini's capabilities within Google Docs, closing the gap between the two services. The updated integration allows Gemini in Google Docs to now utilize information from curated Gemini Notebooks. This enhancement ensures that Gemini's responses are secure and well-grounded in a user's existing research. Moreover, the feature provides inline citations, facilitating the verification of facts without the need to shift between tabs.

While Gemini in Google Docs has been a valuable tool for tasks such as generating audio summaries, inserting visuals, and maintaining consistent tone across documents, it has now taken a significant step forward by granting access to users' Gemini Notebooks. This incorporation of Gemini Notebooks as a context source within Google Docs eliminates the necessity for users to manually switch between tabs to cross-verify information in drafts created by Gemini.

To leverage this new feature, users must first organize their research into a Gemini Notebook, subsequently adding it as a source within Google Docs, after which Gemini will seamlessly draw upon the stored information while constructing content.
