Ganapathi Bhat appointed SVVU Vice-Chancellor

K. Ganapathi Bhat, an Advaita Vedanta professor and Dean of the Faculty of Darsanas at National Sanskrit University in Tirupati, has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (SVVU). He replaces current Vice-Chancellor Rani Sadasiva Murty. Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, acting as the university's Chancellor, made the appointment for a three-year term.

Bhat is recognized for his significant contributions to Indian knowledge traditions at NSU and his efforts to promote "Shastric" studies, preserve Indian heritage, and advance Sanskrit. Following his appointment, G.S.R. Krishnamurthy, Bhat's predecessor at NSU, congratulated him and expressed optimism for his continued contributions at SVVU in his new role.
