From a Disney stage to the Hong Kong Coliseum Hong Kong Disneyland Donates HK$1.8 Million to Po Leung Kuk to Nurture Young Dance Talent

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has donated HK$1.8 million to Po Leung Kuk to support the development of young dance talent in Hong Kong. The donation comes in the lead up to World Tourism Day on September 27, following the International Day of Charity on September 5. This collaboration aims to provide more young people with a passion for dance the opportunity to develop their talent and pursue their dreams, while also boosting Hong Kong’s cultural tourism.

Hong Kong Disneyland’s Dance-Off program has already given young local dancers a platform to perform and inspire one another, with the recent victory of Rockz Elements at the "Hong Kong Disneyland Dance-Off Party" highlighting the potential for success. The program has not only provided a professional stage for young dancers to showcase their skills but has also helped them build confidence and gain valuable experience.

River, a member of Rockz Elements, shared his inspiring journey, stating that performing on a professional stage reinforced his belief that dreams can come true through hard work and perseverance. Chris, the tutor of Rockz Elements and project coordinator of Po Leung Kuk's Fong Shu Fook Tong Children and Youth Development Centre, emphasized that the opportunity to perform on a professional stage is crucial for young dancers, as it gives them the confidence and inspiration they need to pursue their dreams.

Anita Lai, vice president of Communications and Public Affairs at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, expressed her delight at the collaboration with Po Leung Kuk, emphasizing the importance of culture, creativity, and talent in driving Hong Kong’s development. Dr. Jenny Tam, chairman of Po Leung Kuk, echoed these sentiments, stating that their shared vision is to provide limitless opportunities for young people to grow and thrive.

The donation will support Po Leung Kuk’s youth dance training program and enhance training facilities, creating a more effective learning environment for young people to unlock their potential and build confidence. The future of the "Hong Kong Disneyland Dance-Off Program" remains promising, with HKDL committed to continuing its partnership with Po Leung Kuk to foster youth development and host the beloved competition.
