Former Petronas manager met Petros official before job interview, court told

In a Kuala Lumpur court, former Petronas manager Mohd Khairul Akmal Mohd Jasni is accused of attempting to disclose a document to a Petroleum Sarawak Berhad official before a job interview. The witness, a former Petronas employee, stated that Mohd Khairul Akmal met with Petros chief financial officer Mohd Azha Abdul Jalil and Datuk Janin Girie at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club before the interview.

The witness mentioned that the two positions applied for, Head of Upstream Finance and Manager of Business Planning Performance Review Upstream, were similar in scope. Under Petronas' Code of Ethics, employees must obtain prior approval before sharing sensitive information, which could be a violation according to Section 203A(1) of the Penal Code.
