Family pension case pending since 2020: Check why

Bharat Pensioners Samaj (BPS) has drawn attention to the case of Mita Biswas, whose family pension claim has been pending since 2020 due to the inability to provide her brother's death certificate. The pension seeker, a widow, applied for the dependent family pension after her mother's death in 2020, but the authorities demanded a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from all siblings, excluding the deceased brother.

Efforts to secure the death certificate have been unsuccessful, as her brother died during the COVID-19 pandemic, and no cremation certificate was available. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue through official channels, including CPENGRAMS and Special Campaign 3.0, the pension claim remains unresolved. BPS has written to the Principal Chief Personnel Officer (PCPO), South Eastern Railway, demanding a formal decision, a personal review of the case by a senior official, and the payment of pension and arrears if Mita is found eligible.
