DVS receives report over dog allegedly dragged behind motorcycle in Penang

The Penang Veterinary Services Department (DVS) has received a report of an alleged animal cruelty incident in which two men were seen dragging a black dog behind a motorcycle in Batu Lancang, George Town, yesterday, according to an independent animal rescuer named David Yim.

Yim reported that a woman witnessed the incident and attempted to stop the two men, who continued dragging the dog despite her pleas. The dog, described as suffering from serious injuries, eventually left the scene with the two men, who disappeared from the area afterwards. Yim also noted that the woman had handed over photographs and video recordings of the incident to him.

Upon being contacted, DVS director Dr Saira Banu Mohamed Rejab confirmed that the department had received a report about the incident.
