Boomi Appoints Mike Hickman as Chief Financial Officer

Boomi, a data activation company specializing in AI, has appointed Mike Hickman as Chief Financial Officer. In his new role, Hickman will oversee the company's global finance and accounting operations, which include financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, tax, and financial reporting. He will report directly to Boomi's Chairman and CEO, Steve Lucas.

Hickman brings an extensive background in senior finance leadership within high-growth SaaS and technology companies. Before joining Boomi, he spent seven and a half years at Proofpoint, where he served as Senior Vice President of Finance. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in guiding the company through its $12.3 billion take-private and the $1.8 billion acquisition of Hornetsecurity, while simultaneously driving its revenue growth.

Prior to Proofpoint, Hickman held finance leadership positions at Adobe, where he built the FP&A function, and Marin Software, where he helped the company prepare for its IPO.

Steve Lucas, Boomi's Chairman and CEO, praised Hickman's extensive experience, stating that he has demonstrated the ability to navigate through various stages of the corporate lifecycle, from IPOs to large acquisitions. Hickman echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the challenge lies in building the discipline needed to support continuous growth. He highlighted that Boomi possesses two significant elements that are difficult to establish: a platform utilized by global enterprises and a market that continues to expand.

Hickman's primary responsibility is to ensure that Boomi's financial operations keep pace with the company's growth, spanning across all regions of operation.
