Anwar’s elder brother Idrus Ibrahim dies

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the sad news of his elder brother, Idrus Ibrahim's death. The announcement was made in a Facebook post while the prime minister was returning from a three-day working visit to China. Anwar expressed his profound sense of loss, stating that it was difficult for him to convey the weight of his heart in accepting this reality.

He regretted not being able to be with his brother in his final moments but accepted the separation as part of their lives. Anwar prayed for Idrus to be forgiven for his shortcomings, granted mercy, and join Allah’s faithful servants who do good deeds. He also requested the public and friends to offer prayers and recite Al-Fatihah for the deceased.

Anwar expressed his gratitude for the memories and kindness left behind by his brother, which will remain etched in their memories and hearts.
