AEON Ekiden marks five years of connection

AEON Ekiden, a community initiative that blends sports with cultural exchange between Japan and Vietnam, has become an eagerly anticipated annual event since its inception in 2022. Launched by AEON Vietnam, the race spans across the country's three regions, beginning in Haiphong in June, followed by Hue in July, and concluding in Tay Ninh in September. This year, the race is divided into two categories: Category A for families with children aged 5-12, and Category B for teams with members aged 13 and above.

Participation in AEON Ekiden has grown significantly over the past four years, with nearly 22,000 participants engaging in the event from 2022 to 2025. The event not only fosters a sense of connection among families and friends but also promotes a healthy lifestyle and celebrates the friendship between Japan and Vietnam. In addition to the relay race, the AEON Cosplay Festival, held alongside AEON Ekiden, offers various activities for all ages, including traditional folk games and a Talent and Catwalk category, encouraging creativity and positive values.

Takeuchi Takashi, CFO of AEON Vietnam, emphasized the event's objectives during the finale in Tay Ninh, stating that AEON aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and celebrate the bond between Japan and Vietnam through the event. The People pillar of AEON Vietnam's long-term commitment to sustainable development focuses on encouraging physical and mental wellbeing in the community.
