Adebutu decries neglect of Ogun border communities, promises development commission

Oladiipupo Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for governor in Ogun State, has pledged to establish a Border Communities Development Commission if elected in 2027. This announcement came during the launch of his campaign in Ogun West Senatorial District. The governor-elect highlighted the neglect of border communities in Ogun West, where residents have been deprived of essential amenities such as road networks, clean water, and healthcare facilities, despite their significant economic contribution to the state.

Speaking in Ipokia, Adebutu vowed to rectify this imbalance by granting full autonomy to local governments and ensuring direct allocation of funds earmarked for grassroots development. He also promised a commitment to transparent governance, timely pension payments, resolution of workers' outstanding entitlements, and the eradication of corruption in cooperative deductions.

Adebutu urged voters to reject vote-buying tactics and instead focus on the quality of leadership, urging them to vote for change rather than short-term gratification. He warned against the return of failed leaders who promise empty pledges and cash handouts. He emphasized that every vote cast would be crucial in determining the future of Ogun State.
