A Taj of class from Malaysia at Asian Games

KUALA LUMPUR: Taj Izrin Aiman Taj Madira secured Malaysia's first-ever Asian Games eSports gold in the Gran Turismo 7 event, marking a significant milestone in his career. The 27-year-old, who has been passionate about motorsport since his childhood, hopes that this victory will pave the way for a professional sim racing team. Prior to his success, Taj Izrin relied on cash prizes from competitions, which often amounted to nothing upon losses.

His father, Taj Madira Taj Ahmad, occasionally took him to races at the Sepang International Circuit. During the pandemic, Taj Izrin started pursuing sim racing as a career and won his first major competition. Although his mother was initially apprehensive about his decision, she eventually came to support him after witnessing his achievements.

Taj Izrin's success in the Asian Games has boosted his confidence, and he now aspires to compete for a professional team.
