Chinese President Xi Jinping announced on Thursday that the United States and China have reached a new trade arrangement during a summit with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington. The arrangement, described as "good news" for both countries and the global economy, was discussed alongside other key issues such as artificial intelligence (AI), security, and the situation in the Middle East.

While the specifics of the trade deal were not disclosed, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed that the two nations had agreed to extend their trade truce until January 10.
