NAGOYA, Japan, Sept. 24 - South Korea secured their first gold medal in canoe sprint at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games by winning the men's kayak four 500m event. The team of Cho Gwang-hee, Kim Hyo-bin, Jang Sang-won, and Choi Min-kyu crossed the finish line in 1:22.587, edging out China by 0.255 seconds. This marked a significant milestone for Cho, who has now won three gold medals in three Asian Games appearances, following golds in the men's kayak singles 200m event in 2014 and 2018.

This victory also made history as South Korea's first gold in canoe sprint and their ninth overall at the Asian Games.
