2027: ‘I have no fear’ – Wike names three candidates to win elections in FCT

In a recent statement, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), revealed that he has no apprehension regarding the outcome of the 2027 general elections in the nation's capital. Wike, who is the former Governor of Rivers State, has confidently named three candidates, including President Bola Tinubu, Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, and John Gabaya, as capable of winning the FCT elections.

Wike emphasized that he has no fear of the political landscape, stating that the Tinubu administration has not only listened to the people but also cared for them and solved their problems. He expressed his confidence in the governing party's prospects, attributing it to the impressive infrastructure achievements under their administration. Wike encouraged residents to vote for candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing their interests.

The Minister made these remarks while touring ongoing infrastructure projects in satellite communities of the FCT. He highlighted that the Apo-Karshi road contract, initially awarded in 2010, faced delays during the previous administration. However, the current administration has reassigned the contract to the contractor who has pledged to complete the road by November of this year.

Wike also acknowledged the Federal Government's efforts to extend development initiatives beyond the central business district to satellite communities. He noted that more than ten projects would be inaugurated in the FCT before the next elections, surpassing their earlier commitment of merely ten projects.
