2026 Best Farmer and Best Poultry Farmer winners to receive sponsored Italy trips

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture, alongside Mehak Company Limited and Covenant Farms, has announced substantial financial support for the 2026 Best Farmer and Best Poultry Farmer awards as part of the 42nd National Farmers’ Day Celebration. The awards will provide the winners with the chance to participate in seven-day, all-expenses-paid trips to Italy, where they will gain exposure to advanced agricultural technologies, production methods, and innovative practices.

Mehak Company Limited will sponsor the Overall National Best Farmer and their spouse or partner, while Covenant Farms will sponsor the National Best Poultry Farmer, with a seven-day technical and benchmarking trip focused on modern poultry practices and sustainable production systems. These sponsorship packages highlight a shared commitment to recognizing excellence, innovation, and resilience in Ghanaian agriculture, with the ultimate goal of helping the country's outstanding farmers understand and adopt modern farming technologies, processing innovations, and smart agricultural practices in line with the government's agricultural modernisation objectives.

The Ministry has confirmed that all negotiations with the Italian Embassy to arrange the winners' travel have been successfully completed, ensuring that the selected individuals will be able to embark on these international study and technical programs following their selection at the 2026 National Farmers’ Day celebrations. The Ministry expressed gratitude to Mehak Company Limited and Covenant Farms for their support of the National Farmers’ Day celebration and their exemplary private-sector backing of agriculture.
